Basically the .sfk file is a picture of the waveform display of the sound file. In order for SoundForge to quickly draw the waveform display and let you scroll around and zoom, it generates the image of the waveform in a separate file. You may delete this file if you wish and you won't lose anything, but SoundForge (or any other SonicFoundry program) will recreate it as necessary the next time you open the file. |

Note that there is a pref called "delete temporary files on close" that will automatically delete .sfk and .sfap files for you when Sound Forge is done with them. But it will still rebuild them whenever the file is opened. J. |
