Subject:Processing MANY files

How can I automatically apply a process or an effect to all the files within a folder.

I have to alter a lot of small files. Do SF have the ability to do it ?

I seached through the help files, to no avail... English is not my native language though... So it may be hidden somewhere.

If you purchased Sound Forge on CD, there is a separate app. called Batch Converter on it. If you purchased the download version see Batch Converter

More specifically, the full version of SF-6 comes with Bach Converter on the CD or as a free download, The studio (limited) version does not, but can be purchased separtly for around $100, I think.

Okay,

I thought Batch converter was only meant to convert from one format to another... Maybe they should call it Batch processor or something...

Now this does not solve my problem entirely...

1. I cannot use the Volume process : it is not in the list in Batch Converter

2. When I used Distorision + Smooth/Enhance, I got corrupted sounds, with some stutter and blanks...

I am still stuck with my problem...

I have many very short files to process, and they are corrupted. Most of the sounds are 2 sec. long, when I apply an effect, they are made 4 sec. long with blanks...

Is there a minimum duration for a file to be processed via Batch Converter ?

The very same process applied with SoundForge is all right, but the same one with Batch Converter corrupts the file : adding blanks in the sound.

Corrupted?.. as in errors? or just volume levels?

I don't know about minimum file duration.

Re-check your parameters. BC should not change the file time. ??

Sonic???

You can use the Process>Normalize function to change volume levels. Use Peak level to change w/o compressing.

I tracked down the problem...

If I try to save the processed to a compressed WAV format (MPEG-layer3, 11025, 16 bits, mono), the file is made longer (twice as long or so), and blanks are inserted.

As far as I can tell all other formats are fine.

You may have to register the MP3 plug-in part of BC. Though I'm not sure. Check with SF customer service.
