Subject:recording from karaoke player

I don't know if anyone has any info to help, but when I go to record on Sound Forge frome the midi player I only get my voice and no music in the background. I have tried everything I know to enable the input from the player, but being new to all this I hope there is someone out the who can help me. Thanks
