I am currently using Sound Forge XP Studio 5.0f and am considering an upgrade to Studio 6. Based on the new features list, the only things that stand out for me are 1) Multitask background rendering and 2) user interface enhancements (looks like it nows draws its own 'close' button on the play meters so it doesn't obscure the titlebar text. :) I'm looking for opinions from those who have upgraded from 5.0 to 6.0 or from sound forge engineers familiar with the changes. Is 6.0 faster, prettier, easier to use (not that its hard now), etc? The new features list also says that 6.0 uses real-time non-destructive editing - doesn't 5.0 do the same already? Thanks. |

The biggest difference you'll notice is that most edits (cuts & pastes) now take place almost instantly in version 6. The pieces are handled seamlessly and then the file is reassembled into a single piece when saving. This alone saves me several hours of time every week. |
