Subject:Existing audio file: need to pump it into microphone

Folks:

I am using a program right now and the only way to embed sound into the document is via the microphone. However, I already have the audio as a .wav file. Is there a way to play the .wav file and have the computer process it as though it were coming via the mike jack?

I don't want to play the file with the microphone externally b/c of the sound degradation issue.
