Subject:Studio XP hookup problems

Just got my computer back from the shop and trying to get my StudioXP back up and running. I run a mic thru my dat deck and into the soundcard...so far I cant get a wave form when I try to record. I have signal to the deck but non'e is going into soundforge. Could it be the windows mixer or the soundblaster mixer? Help.

Have you checked Options>Preferences>Wave>Record to select the desired soundcard?
To check your sound card settings: Double click the speaker icon; Select Options/Properties/Recording. Be sure the Line in is check marked under Show the following volume controls. Adjust the Line-in fader to obtain proper recording level.
