Is there a way to extract a wav file from an mpeg in SoundForge?

If it's MPEG-1, you should be able to open the file in SoundForge 5 or 6, then save it as an audio-only type such as WAV or MP3. If it's MPEG-2 then you'll have to have an MPEG-2 plugin/codec installed on your computer. There are several available, including the MainConcept plugin that is included with Vegas.
