Finally Sound Forge will allow manipulation of audio parameters over time at the sample level, as well automation of FX parameters. Fantastic! This will tremendously increase it's usefulness as a sound design tool. The only thing missing is ability to have more than one sample playing at once to interact with sample mixing in real time, before commiting to a paste; currently its trial and error, and is usually better handled by using a DAW like Vegas. Jumping back and forth for this is a real PITA, makes me really question whether anyone is doing sound design at SF. There's one thing I wish SForge would do: LET GO of the sample after it's been closed!! I have to close Forge before the system will let me delete or move a sample. Very annoying! BTW, I was just about to buy Wavelab; I've now postponed that decision pending the usefulness of the new SF. A |
