I can record through digital inputs on my Echo Mia soundcard to my Sound Forge 6 great, but when I try to record from analog, the speed of the recording is slowed down (like when you record on a reel to reel at 7 1/2 ips and then slow to 3 3/4 ips during playback. Is there some preset for sound forge analog recording speed? Any help would be great, thanks! |

When you Record digitally do you have the clock set to "S/Pdif" on the Mia Console? You should. But when you record analog it would probably be best that you set it back to "internal". I'm expecting you are recording within sound forge during analog recording with the sample rate set at 96Khz or 48Khz, and the Mia is set to "external/SPDIF" probably connected to a CD player that sends out a clock of 44.1Khz. The result will be slow playback, because it's syncing to the wrong clock source for the recording sample rate you're trying to record at. |

No, none of the above is the problem. This mono problem seems to be inherit with some conflict in XP. I thought it was the original SB Value card drivers--when I deleted the drivers the sound was stereo and correct speed. Then this would reinstall itself, so I uninstalled SB completely and then removed the sound card before starting up again. Everything was great until I shut down the machine a couple times then it was back in mono and slow speed. Any other ideas? Thanks. |

Well, you've obviously got a sound card driver conflict problem. I'm kind of wondering why you would be putting a SB card and a MIA on the same PC anyway. If you want more I/O you should have bought the Gina. If, I was you I would reformat the H/D, put on a new install of windows, and this time leave the SB card out altogether. |
