I have some footage that I've edited and is ready for buring, however I really want to give it the 'film' look. At the mo its to much like a home movie.
Is there software available to do this? or do i need some type of filter?
In doing this, don't underestimate the superb quality of the SoFo DV and MPEG-2 codecs. What I mean is this: I put minimal blur in a Vegas project shot on a Panny DVX100 at the 24p setting, and although it looked right on a TV monitor, when I burned a DVD with DVD-A and played it on an in-law's giant TV (60 inch screen), I could see the lines in the lead actress' face! More blur next time, yes, but also keep in mind how your film is going to be viewed. Scout the Vegas forum for some very good discussions on the film look. And don't worry about the couple of purists (although experts indeed) who say you'll never match true film quality. The idea is simply NOT to make it look like VIDEO. The story content has to take you the rest of the way.
