Does not remember changes made to Preferences settings. The program also does not remember window state. (always opens full screen with VU meters docked on right side) Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks |

The Windows login account must have registry access (HKCU) for Sound Forge to persist preference changes. |

Sonic, Thanks for your prompt reply. Am running XP professional. Auto login on boot as administrator. Any idea where the screw-up is? |

Are any metrics stored in HKCU\Sony Media Software\Sound Forge\7.0\Metrics after you shut it down? |

Nope. Also there is no "Metrics" subkey under "7.0" |

Does regedit allow you to add or modify keys under the account of interest? And I'm assuming you are using a registered copy of 7.0. Is that correct? |

Sonic, Your last comment tipped me as to the culprit! Opened regedit to create a "metrics" subkey under "7.0" and was refused. Found out that permissions were not allowed for "HKCU\Software\Sony Media Software". All fixed now. Have no idea why permissions weren't set properly in the first place. Thanks much! |
