Sound Forge Studio 6 Freezes on Record or Playback -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Sound Forge Studio 6 Freezes on Record or Playback Posted by: pdecker02 Date:10/3/2003 5:55:20 PM I'm running Sound Forge Studio 6 on an HP Pavillion zt1175 notebook with WindowsXP Pro. I can start Sound Forge Studio 6, but if I try to play or record, the system locks up completely, and I have to use the reset button. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software several times. I have updated all the drivers on the machine. I have tried removing hardware from the profile. I have tried an external sound card (extigy). I have tried HP tech support. I have tried Creative tech support. I have searched the web for other instances of the problem and possible fixes. And before someone says it, I have upgraded the software. That's how I got Studio 6. I upgraded from XP 5, because of this problem. Any help would be great.

Do you have the latest version of DirectX? (9.0b) Anything available for the laptop's BIOS? Try turning video acceleration down or turn it off completely. Has this system been formatted at all?
