I want to record the digital audio (AC3) stream from a satellite receiver. I own Sound Forge, Vegas, Acid, etc. but can't find any way to capture this stream through my sound card. I can listen to it, but I can't capture it. Is there any way to do this with Sony software, and if not, is there any other software that will let me capture the stream directly? |

You can record from your sound card's output section. Double click the speaker icon. Select Options/Properties/Recording Check mark the source (Stereo output (- or - "Record what you hear" as S blaster calls it) under Show the following volume controls. Click OK Select and adjust the level control for optimal record levels watching the Sound Forge record window meter. Ctrl+R |

"You can record from your sound card's output section. " rraud, thanks very much for the idea. This will definitely let me get the sound into the computer, so if it comes to it, I can do this. However, I was hoping to capture the actual AC3 stream so I can burn the audio portion of a DVD without any A/D or D/A conversions. |
