Subject:Record AC3 from satellite

I want to record the digital audio (AC3) stream from a satellite receiver. I own Sound Forge, Vegas, Acid, etc. but can't find any way to capture this stream through my sound card. I can listen to it, but I can't capture it.

Is there any way to do this with Sony software, and if not, is there any other software that will let me capture the stream directly?

You can record from your sound card's output section.
Double click the speaker icon.
Select Options/Properties/Recording
Check mark the source (Stereo output (- or - "Record what you hear" as S blaster calls it) under Show the following volume controls. Click OK
Select and adjust the level control for optimal record levels watching the Sound Forge record window meter. Ctrl+R

rraud, thanks very much for the idea. This will definitely let me get the sound into the computer, so if it comes to it, I can do this. However, I was hoping to capture the actual AC3 stream so I can burn the audio portion of a DVD without any A/D or D/A conversions.
