I've been trying to get an answer for some time now. I've tried other forums but so far no one will even give me a hint. Please, any info would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a point to another forum? My situation: I have access to a couple hundred movies but they are overdubbed in a language I don't know. The english is still there but the overdubbing makes it hard to hear. My question: I'm looking for a way to diminish the overdubbing or amplify the rest of the sound track so that the english can be understood over the foreign language overdubb. Not looking for perfection. Was thinking of doing this on the fly each time I watch rather than try to rip the audio, filter it and put it all back together. Any ideas where to start, what might be a good program to accomplish this as I said would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance |

I hate to tell you, but this is most likely impossible. About the only possibilities for hope would be: - If the main sound track is on one channel and the overdubbing is on a different channel, you could mute one of the channels. - If the speakers on the main sound track are all bass and the overdubbing is all soprano, using EQ might help a very tiny bit. - If the main sound track is stereo and the overdubbing is dead-center mono, then a vocal-remover procedure might remove a little bit of the overdubbing. However, even in this case the voices in the original sound track are probably mostly panned center too, so they would be removed with the overdubbing. I'm afraid there's probably very little hope though. |

Thank you for answering. Sorry to it's to difficult. I guess I've been watching to much CSI. I figured if they can do all those nifty tricks with tape recordings I could do what I was thinking of. Peace |

Most of those audio tricks you see on TV or in movies are fantasy. |
