I'm new at this. When I save a file, SF7 inserts silence at the beginning and end of the file. Not much, only about .25 sec on each end. I'm trying to create a loop, but the slince messes it up. What can I do to make this stop? I just want to know the truth. |

Is the file being saved in the MP3 format? That format inserts a bit of silence at the beginning and end of the file. There's no way of getting rid of it; it's inherent to the format. If you're concerned about file size, try Sony's own PCA (Perfect Clarity Audio) format. However, note that only Sony's own apps recognize the format. (It's proprietary.) Hey lacobus, That was it! Thanks for the insight. Is this documented anywhere? It'd be nice to know advantages/limitations of other formats when it comes to decide which one to use. I just want to know the truch |

If you had searched the forum before posting you would have found an incredible amount of posts on this topic, superseded only by "How to remove vocals". Search Sound Forge Family for "loop" and "loops" etc. MJ |

Ah, you make the assumption I did not search. I did search. I just didn't search with the criteria you listed. Being new doesn't mean I'm stupid, it means I'm still learning. I just want to know the truth |

"Being new doesn't mean I'm stupid" I didn't mean to imply you are, hence I wouldn't have provided keywords. Welcome aboard. MJ |
