Hi Zippy, didn't realize you visited here as well. Sound Forge contains hundreds of sliders, you just have to look for them. If your overall volume is too high just select the entire clip and go Process-> volume then use its SLIDERor presets lower it by whatever you select. If your clips are consistently too hot you can save the attenuation level as a personal preset and use it again and again. If your volume is too low you want to boost it, which is accomplished in a similar manner except you move the volume SLIDER up instead of down. Your next question will be, "Okay, so why does it not have any volume envelopes/? Answer: You can select whichever portion of the clip you like and manipulate/adjust the heck out of it, INCLUDING volume. Ah, but what about fade outs? Yes it does not work in the same manner as Vegas. Decide where the clip will begin to fade out then slect from that point on then Process-> fade -> out. Reverse procedure and select fade->in if you want the clip to start silent and gradually increase in volume. Sure glad I could help. Peter |

There is also Procces / Fade / Graphic, which does a volume envelope of sorts. It only allows a limited number of points (20 maybe? it's been a while since i counted), but you can use those 20 points to set the major fade curves for the project and then zoom in on a smaller section that needs more adjustment and set up to another 20 points there, etc. SoundForge 7 also has Effects / Envelope which is pretty much the same function as found in Vegas. |

Hit the "V" key in Sound Forge 7 and the Volume envelope will appear, just like in Vegas and Acid. "P" for pan. |
