Subject:How Exactly do i record?

Is this a multitracking program? Everytime I record, I overwrite the music. I want to record OVER it but not overwrite it. Is this like cool edit. Sound Forge 7. I just purchased this.

No, Sound Forge is not a multitracker. You'd want Vegas for that.

What you could do is to play back what you've alread recorded in Media Player, use your sound card's mixer to mix that in with the new signal, and record the result into Sound Forge. This would be similar to doing Sound-on-Sound with a tapedeck, but wouldn't be true multitracking.

You bought it without knowing what it was ?!!!

You can choose in the record dialogue whether you want to overwrite, append or record to new windoweach new file.

If you want multitrack recording you need Vegas or Acid.

alright. thx. I'm pleased with it because the music sounds nice when compressed but i'll think about buying vegas. thx for the info
