Subject:Live Recording w SF7 . .

I would really find it handy to be able to designate a file name prefix, such as SC_Concert_12052003_ and have SF7 append 01 to first file, then each time I hit 'R', it would stop recording and close the file, not open a window for it, etc. Pretty much the same behavior of Vegas, when recording, ie file is closed upon hitting pause. Currently, even if I do a save all, the asterisk next to the file name doesn't go away, and I'm prompted again to save, even though I already did. SF6 killed the asterisk once you saved the file. Is there a way to specify that behavior in SF7 ?

Make sure "Automatically reopen file after Save As" is checked in Options->Preferences->File.

Yes, that restored the SF6 behavior I was talking about, thanks.

I'm hoping that a new option can be added to the list, such as "Create Named File", allowing us to specify directory and filename prefix, then just auto-append a number, as we go in and out of record. Each file would be closed upon stopping record. A new little box that listed these files would be especially handy for live recording . .

There used to be a "Direct" option in older versions, maybe that's what I'm describing, ie new mode to record directly to a file, no temp file.

Best regards,
