Do somebody know how to make a SACD? I know how the DSD tech. works but how do you make a DSD file (Soundforge?)and on what kind of external media can we put it. Is there already a SACD burner and if so do you need special SACD's to put it on or can we use ordinary DVD-R's? Br, Dide |

After some research on the net: Mytec has a standalone DSD recorder with as media a tape, DVD-Ram or other scsi device. There are also DSD editors like Merging or Sadie. (Maybe something for Soundforge in the future?) Tascam has also a DSD recorder (based on there DTRS recorders) the DS-D98. EMM Labs has some DSD A/D D/A converters. and Genex has a multi-channel DSD recorder, the GX8500. After mastering the project you give bring the DSD media to the SACD factory for the final process of the production of a SACD. If you know German (or maybe the pictures will explain it some how) this is a good link: http://www.studio-magazin.de/Leseproben/SACD-Herstellung.pdf (I'm gonna seach on the net for a better explenation of the factory process.) No deticated SACD recorder at the moment(maye there is one but i din't found one)! http://www.studioconsultants.com/manufacturerhtmfiles/Mytek/dmaster.htm http://www.sacd.philips.com/b2b/news/dsdrecorders.html No thx Red, Dide |
