Subject:Can I scrub with the cursor keys?

I'm a blind user of SF6. There are quite a few people I know, who'd like to do some scrubbing on audio files. One can do a thing, which comes close to scrubbing by using the mouse, and there is a script for a screen reader called JAWS, which makes this kind of scrubbing possible, by using the keyboard. However, I'd like to use the keyboard without this script. Some people can scrub, by just pressing cursor right and left while playing a file. For other people or on other PCs, this just doesn't work.

Does anybody here have an idea, why this works on some PCs and on others just does nothing?

Thanks

Could be because of the way the drivers for the audio interface are written? Maybe also the keyboard being used?
