I have a 2.08 GB WAV file. I'm trying to open it in Soundforge 6, and it won't open; it gets to 95% and reports that the temporary file space is full. How to resolve? TIA |

open Sound Forge, then go to Options -> Preferences and click the Perform tab. take note of the partition/drive letter noted in the "Temporary files and record folder" (for example: C:\etc etc). then check to see how much space you've got left on said partition. if it's less than 2.08 Gb there's the problem. you can change the path to a partition or drive with enough space in the same menu by clicking the Browse button. |

yeah, I am running an 80gb drive and the setting is pointed to that device. I have over 56gb free, so that appears to not be the issue. Other ideas? |

hmmm.... is your drive formatted as FAT32? if so, that is the problem since FAT32 discs/partitions can't handle anything above 2 Gb. NTFS formatted drives/partitions don't have this limitation so formatting to NTFS might be an option, if you want to take the time and trouble that comes with such an operation. edit : might be handy to mention that it will erase all files on the drive or partition should you decide to format it to NTFS, so keep that in mind. :) |

Nope, NTFS - WinXP Pro When I originally created (recorded a live event) the system was WinME, but I moved the file to this workstation and the laptop is now XP PRo as well. |

As a workaround, you might try opening it as .raw... J. |
