Version 7 seems to be very happy. Is there a setting that controls
when you want to only make a marker, or m? When I press M, I get
a track number, but not just the marker..is this a new default?

Also, it seems that all of the plug-ins are "hidden", do you have to
create a favorites of all, in version 6 they all came up under Sonic
Foundry?

'M' should insert a marker with whatever labeling you have set in Options->Preferences->Editing->Automatic Labeling.

The DX Favorites menu is now a customizeable shortcut menu. If you just want all installed plug-ins to show up, use the "Recreate by Plug-in name" option. If you want to tweak it, you can use the "Organize" option or the Plug-In Manager (available in the View menu).
