I don't believe MP3/MPEG support was available until version 4.5, and even then it was a purchased add-on at first. You'll probably have to upgrade to a newer version. |

Does the free upgrade not have mp3 support? If I am to upgrade should I go straight to the latest version? Thanks |

If your talking about an "UPDATE", (version letter/ build #) no, it would not change the mp3 issue. An "UPGRADE" (SF- 4.0 to 7.0) would allow open and save/save as mp3 files. However that's not free. I strongly recommend upgrading to 7.0.. if you have Win-2000 or XP. (6.0 if you have Win98) There is a free applet,"WaveMP3" by Peter Luijer that "tweaks" MP3s to open and play as wave files. (but still retains the mp3 filesize, ect) "WaveMP3 is a nifty little program that will convert "Normal" MP3's into MP3's with the .wav extension so they can be used by programs that don't support the MP3-format, but do support sound-files in the Windows Wave-format."
