Subject:DJ like scratch effect in Sound Forge?

I was wondering if it was possible to manipulate a soundfile in Sound Forge to make it sound like it was being scratched? What I mean is, I have two sound files, an actual vinyl record scratch sound, and a sound file of my voice I wanted to make sound like its being scratched... I want to manipulate my voice sound file so it sounds like its being scratched, then I'll just paste the vinyl scratch sound I have over it...

so.. perhaps this is a matter of reversing the sound, then time stretching it or something? I really am not sure... specific details would be extremely helpful

thanks to anyone willing to help, very much appreciated

Take a look at Effects / Pitch / Bend. You can create an envelope to speed up & slow down the sound by a factor of 4x. If you sent alternating +24/-24 points at close intervals you can get some rather convincing sounds.

Somewhere I have seen a DX pligin to do just that, the DJ scratch-thang. Sorry, can't remember what it was called.

Sad effect that I think it is notwithstanding....

I don't know how well it works but you can try AnalogX's scratch plugin:
