When transferring music to my Mini Disc via USB the transfer always uses LP2, is there any way to change to any other setting? Setting my MD recorder to LP4 or SP has no effect.

You can change it if you use the analoge input

No it wouldn't. The digital file dicates what mode it will be in. In your case it is probably a 44.1k mono file.
