re BatchConverter5, when I choose mp3 audio from format list I don't get an option to register, but rather 'the chosen file format plugin could not be loaded and will be removed from the list... the plugin should be reinstalled... ' this of course makes no sense. In the good ol' days when BC5 was included with SF products, one could purchase the plugin separately, now it should be included with the installation of sony SF7, etc. I've tried reinstalling all sony/SF products to no avail. |

I'm assuming you have BC5 and SF7. Do the following: 1. From SF7, File | Save As and choose MP3. Click on Custom and register for MP3. This will get you a Sony MP3 license. 2. Start | Programs | Sony | Utilities | Migration Tools | Copy Sonic Foundry Plug-In Licenses from Installed Sony Plug-Ins. This transfers the Sony MP3 license you obtained in #1 to make it available to Sonic Foundry applications (like BC5). 3. Run BC5. You should be able to render to MP3. |

You think you un-installed the software just by choosing 'un-install' from the Add-Remove Programs menu!? OhMyGod! what a newbie! THIS is how you REALLY un-install the software: 1) 'un-install' ALL Sony and SF programs from the Add-Remove Programs menu 2) delete ALL Sony and SF installation folders, including setup folders from the install directory [C:\Program Files\] 3) use regedit to delete ALL Sony and SF keys and sub-keys found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE NOW- It's un-installed, so what are you waiting for- Re-boot; Re-install; Re-register; Re-new! |
