Be sure you have the correct synth selected for it's output, it's MIDI remember, not audio. Launch the Keyboard, click the icon that looks like a keyboard with a cable coming in and out. Select your synth or MIDI mapper. Since you don't post your soundcard or what synth you use I can't be more specific. Then be sure the volume for that synth is not muted or lowered in the Windows Mixer applet assuming you're not using an external synth. Also be sure in (again you don't post your OS so I'll assume XP) Control Panel > Sounds, Audio Devices > Sounds Tab > MIDI, you have that synth selected as the default and it's not disabled in Device Manager. Thanks MJ, I don't have a "physical" synth or midi device attached. I'm running XP-Pro. Launch the Keyboard, click the icon that looks like a keyboard with a cable coming in and out. Select your synth or MIDI mapper. Yes, I launch the KB icon and I get the following: Microsoft MIDI Mapper SoundMAX WDM MIDI Microsoft GS Wavetable SW SYnth _______________________________ Send Program Changes . . . in terms of getting the sound to come back to the Vkb, I have no idea what any of this means. I've read the online help on this issue with the info on is being rather limited. My soundcard is a SoundMAX Digital Audio - yeah? Okay - You got it! I've just looked at the Windows Mixer Applet and the SW Synth item was waaaaay low, not muted, but almost "off". How on Earth does that get turned low when I've only been using the SF interface? Is there a "connection" to it from within SF7? MJ, again thanks. So simple . . . when you know how - eh? I'm gonna post some other stuff regarding using MIDI kbs with SF and their setups . . interested? Grazie |
