I stream audio from internet and then edit it with SF and ultimately, it is a .wav file around 430-440mb. I then burn it to a cd. The problem i have is that i want 2 hours of .wav to fit on one cd instead of just 1:19min. That would be equivilent to 550-560mb FYI. I have tried burning that 560mb .wav file on a 80min cd with NERO6, EasyCDCreater, and WindowsMediaPlayer. NONE WORK Any suggestions?? |

sorry for double-posting but i forgot something important... I have tried changing the bit-depth from 16 to 8 and Yes, it cuts the size in half, but NO i still can't get 3 hours of .wav audio on a cd! It just won't let me |

An audio CD is a fixed format. It will always be 44.1KHz 16 bit stereo no matter what format source file you use. This limits you to 79 minutes on a 700MB disc. On the other hand, you could create a data disc rather than an audio disc and burn the .wav file to that and you can fit 700MB in whatever format you wish. The downside is that very few audio CD players will be able to play the disc. |

Kelly, Don't more and more CD/DVD players play MP3 data? If this were the case, you can fit over 10 hours onto a CD with fairly close quality to audio. Yes? |

Kevin, Quite a few portables do, and lots of DVD players also. I haven't seen many non-portable CD-only players that handle MP3 files yet though. But, in any case, an MP3 disc is a data disc, not an audio disc. A true Audio CD won't have MP3 files on it. That being said though, MP3 at a high bitrate is probably a very good option for this task. |

Are you attempting to make audio CD's or Data CD's? |
