Subject:Using SF 4.5 ?'s

I have been using Sound Forge 4.5 and thought I would like to try something different(silly me). I installed another product and soon un-installed it. After that operation I get no sound transfered to the SF program. I play a tape deck and the sound comes out of the Computer speakers but when I push record nothing is recorded. How do I turn on the sound in SF again to make it work? I am using Windows XP.

2 things to check. In the windows mixer section you need to make sure your "line In" is selected for recording and the level is turned up. Then in soundforge goto OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>WAVE. Make sure your sound cards driver is selected for the line inputs. If you have "Microsoft Soundmapper" selected, then ther's a third thing to check within Windows, but it's better not to use that.

Thanks Rednroll, I selected the line -in and it worked. I knew it was something simple but I was just not getting it. Thanks again
