During the installation of SF 7.0a I get this error: "Error 1722: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your supply personnel or package vendor." After searching the net for information about this error I have found some information but none has fixed this problem. I have tried to reinstall my Windows Installer using what is on Microsoft's site and the two installers, InstMsi-x86a.exe and InstMsi-x86w.exe, located in the SF 7 installation forder. However, this has not resolved my problem. I am running XP Pro with SP1 Any information regarding this matter would be helpful. Mike |

Try rebooting > delete the contents of the Windows > Temp folder then install. After reboot the Temp folder's contents are safe to delete and sometimes files intended for installation are saved there intended to be utilized during setup that can interfere with subsequent installation of a previously failed install by the same app. Of course if this PC has internet access run the basic spyware and A/V apps. with current def. files. first also. No luck, but thank you. I also deleted the registry entry "InProgress" under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currend Version\Installer\" Some of the site I went suggested that and I forgot to mention it in my origional post. Also, this error comes up when the Installer is generation the script for this action. If that info is useful the great. Mike |
