Subject:Odd problem with multiband dynamics plugin

I have a bit of an odd problem. It's been a while since I used the Multiband Dynamics in Sound Forge 6. Last week I had a project in which I needed it. When I went to use it, I found that the capture threshold function was not working. Also, the program locked up on me several times while using this plug-in. In thinking back to the last time I used it, the only change to my computer was either the install or updating of Vegas 4. I have Sound Forge 6, Vegas 4 and Acid 8 installed on that computer. Knowing a bit about how the shared plug-ins work, I went to the shared plug-ins folder and nosed around. For grins, I changed the name of the sfppack2.dll file to sfppack2.dllx and then used the CAB file on the Sound Forge 6 disk to restore an earlier version of sfppack2.dll. The multiband dynamics plug-in now works, but I'm not sure if by doing so I have created another issue somewhere. Is it possible that my sfppack2.dll file is corrupted, or are you aware of any issues with this newer plug-in pack? The other odd thing is the different dates on all of the plug-ins. Here is a copy of the directory: 02/14/2003 09:48a 483,328 sfhammer.dll 02/14/2003 09:48a 606,208 sfmirror.dll 10/20/2003 12:19p 610,304 sfppack1.dll 10/20/2003 12:20p 806,912 sfppack2.dllx (the one I changed) 11/07/2002 06:18p 749,644 sfppack2.dll 10/20/2003 12:20p 569,344 sfppack3.dll 10/29/2003 09:51a 454,656 sfresfilter.dll 10/27/2003 04:11p 647,168 sftrkfx1.dll 11/07/2002 06:18p 405,578 sfxpfx1.dll 11/07/2002 06:18p 446,538 sfxpfx2.dll 11/07/2002 06:19p 540,746 sfxpfx3.dll Do the dates all look correct and up to date? Any information and help is much appreciated. Oh, yes, I have a P4, 2.4G machine with 1GB SDRAM using W2K, SP3 and DirectX 9. |
