Subject:Finding a selection within a recording

I have a question. I am using Sound Forge 7.0 and I am editing an mp3 recording of a talk debate that is about 2 hours long. There is a glitch in the recording that every 5 secs a sample is repeated. Because of the length of the recording and the frequency of the glitch I am wanting to know if there is a way to select the area of the glitch and find the next instance to remove it. best case would be able to select the area of the glitch and be able to have all other areas that match the selected area, and also become selected to be able to delete it all at one time. Is there any way in Sound Forge such a thing can be accomplished or some type of technique similar to this that I may be able to delete all the glitched areas from the recording. Basically the idea behind this would be similar to a Find & Replace technique in a text document file. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

IF there were dropouts, SF would be able to detect them. I don't think there is an automated way to find the type of glitches you are experiencing.
This is after the fact but.. in the future, before recording shut down all background applicatioins such as anti-virus, screensavers, calender reminders, ect. . I had problems with stuttering type glitches a few years back and reducing the CPU load cured it.
