Subject:6.0 vs. 7.0

Does anyone know if the license for 7.0 will cover 6.0 installation? I have a site license for our company but have used up the licenses for those copies, and would like to stay with 6.0 company wide. It seems I can only get version 7 licenses now. Any info would be great.

I highly doubt it would work because the license code is specific to that version of the software. However, a quick call to customer service should give you a definitive answer. They may even be able to supply you with more 6.0 licenses, but that's up to them to decide.

Meanwhile, consider checking out eBay. You could probably pick up a few additional copies of older versions there quite cheaply.

Yeah it won't work. I'm actually surprised that Sony never sells the older version once the newer version is released. I mean it's like I can still buy win2k although WinXP has been released. You would think this would especially be the case for Sound Forge 6.0, since Sound Forge v7.0 doesn't run on win98/ME.

I don't want to use the license key...I just want to install version 6 and use a version 6 key. I just wanted to know that if I purchase version 7 will this suffice the license requirements for using a version 6. I hope I'm making sense.

The only people who could answer that are SONY's customer service department.
