I realize that BC5 is not a current Sony product but I recall using it quite a bit in the past. Does an older version of Sound Forge (i.e. 5 or 6) need to be installed in order to get it to work under XP? I have heard rumblings from some people that if doing a fresh install of SF7 only results in BC5 looking for one of the older versions of SF and a failure upon attempted install. I'm not sure of the difference between the update version labeled for prior SF5/6 users and the other one. Should one download the standard non-sf5/6 version rather than the upgrade since SF7 is not mentioned? I've seen it tried once and it caused some kind of error during insall. Anyway around this other than installing an old version of SF alongside SF7? |

Hello -- Basically I have SF7 running all by itself in its own little partition and then SF6 with everything else from Sony / Sonic Foundry in another little partition. I would recommend that you look around on ebay and buy a new copy of SF6, it will come with Noise Reduction and Batch Converter 5.0b. Bye, Kevin *** |

SF-6 did not normally include Noise Reduction (which was a separate purchase) but bungles were available. |
