Subject:How to make session?

Whell, first I am new in Sony forum. I was using Adobe audition and Cool edit to make a session. Now I have Sony sound forge 7.0a and i cant figure the next thing so i need help...... This is the problem..... So when I record the first guitar it is all ok, so after the first guitar I whant to record a second guitar but I cant figure it out how to play the first one and record another in the same time, like I was doing in Adobe audition. So mabye it is a stupid question but I just dont know how to do this! So I will say again..................., Can you help me? I record one guitar and than I can record another one but I dont know how to set up, so that I can lisen to firs guitar while recordng another one. I was doing that whithout any problem in Adobe audition and in Cool edit pro. And yes of course I have a "Sony sound foundry 7.0a" Full edition, so I am not using any demo or shareware bla, bla......... Thank you.................. |

You're using the wrong tool, Sound Forge is a stereo audio editor not a multi-track recorder. Vegas is what you need. MJ |

Ahaaaaaa, so thats the thing, Sony sound forge is not a multi-track recorder. Ok but if is not a multi-track recorder what is it than? I mean Why shuld I use Sony sound forge, if I have Adobe audition? It has all the same options, only Adobe audition can make a multi-track recording and Sony sound forge can not! How strange that I cant make a multi-track recordings with Sony...... Whell ok thanks anyway you help me. If someone mabye knows how to make a multi-track in Sony please tell me But the point is that I must lisen to the firs track I have recorded and than record on the other track another guitar in the same time. If you would have read the previous post and understood it you would understand the difference. You know you can't do multi-track recording in Microsft Word also, so why would you ever buy that? Sound Forge is only a stereo editor. Audition has a multitrack view and a stereo editor within the same program. To get this same functionality from Sony you would need Sound Forge(stereo editor) and Vegas (multitrack) . The difference is that Vegas and Sound Forge integrate with each other, but are seperate programs. Together they are more powerful, and have a better user interface than Adobe Audition. That's the key diiference. I have Vegas, Sound Forge, and Audition and I would hardly even Consider using Audition over Vegas/Sound Forge. There's only one reason currently that I keep audition installed on my system, and thats because Audition allows me to do a copy to clipboard of the statistics data, which saves me a lot of time when I write analysis reports. |
