Subject:Possible to create 30 second audio files from larger waves?

I have about 2,000 .WAV files of custom songs we've created. We need to create a new 30 second "sample" of each file for our website. Basically, we want to create 30 second soundbytes that we'll then convert to low-quality MP3 for fast downloading.

I have SoundForge 4.5 and am hoping that there's SOME sort of way to batch this through all of my songs. Or maybe, you know of a freeware program out there to accomplish this task.

Can you help?

I don't know about being able to batch convert it, this doesn't sound like a typical batch process. How does the batch converter know, which 30 seconds you want from each file?

I would just select the 30 seconds you want, then drag that outside of the original wave window and that will create a new 30 second window of what you just dragged selected. Then you might want to add a fade out in Sound Forge and do a "save as", for that new file.

You can do this with Batch Converter. If you want and even linearly fade out the last number of seconds selected. That way you can even apply DX Pluggins for volume "averaging". If you want me to send you a sequence just send me an email.

But, how do you batch that through 2,000 files?

Do you have Batch Converter?

Batch converter does A, B, C, and D to a single file. Not to thousands of files.

Perhaps we are just not aware of why the word Batch is attached with converter.
I batch convert 100's of files at a time. I have little "recipes" and they yield the proper output by applying settings one at a time.

A single file? -- then why use the word Batch? --

Look take a 1000 files select them and then convert them to mp3 64, for testing purposes and see for yourself.

The word batch means that it batches multiple processes and does them with a single click. You used to have to do each operation separately.
