Subject:MP3 encoding repurchase?

I have Screenblast Soundforge Deluxe and all of a sudden I am unable to encode MP3 files - a box comes up and says that I have to purchase it for 19.95. Why? This is a real product that I bought and paid for with my SONY VAIO computer and now I have to REPURCHASE it?
Can anyone tell me how to get back my already paid-for MP3 encoding?
Thanks for your help

The .mp3 part is not included in the price of the program. Sound Forge will allow you to save as .MP3 for an evaluation period. After that expires, you need to pay the $19.95 to register the .Mp3 plugin. You're escentially paying Fraunhoser, who owns the .mp3 format to be able to use it within Sound Forge. Otherwise Sony would have to charge the rest of us a higher price for the entire program, when we might not even need to make .mp3 files.

BTW: This is the "user" forum, not customer service. But you'll probably get a similar explanation there.

Rednroll's correct SB Sound Forge Deluxe does not come with mp3. But don't all VIAOs come with SB ACID Deluxe? Screenblast ACID Deluxe comes with mp3. If I'm right, you can go into SB ACID Deluxe and render a file as mp3. Click on the Custom button and you will be told that you should register MP3. Register it. This unlocks it for all applications that can use it (including SB Sound Forge Deluxe).

I'm almost 100% sure the VIAOs have SB ACID Deluxe.
