Old question...couldn't find an answer on here -Sound Forge - PC

I searched the forums and knowledge base endlessly but really couldn't find a solution. I am logged in as system administrator, the cd-burner shows up properly in the Registry, I can't update the firmware (none listed on the Sony page) and it works fine in every other program. I'm probably missing something, but I have no clue where else to look. Any suggestions would seriously appreciated and if I missed the answer in an old post sorry for rehashing the topic. :) Thanks!
