If I record with Sound Forge v6 @ 24/88.2 in stereo, then do some editing... how do I then export the edited 24/88.2 audio so that Pro Tools on the Mac can open it? I don't want to convert or degrade the sound at all. I want Pro Tools Mac to open it as 24/88.2 Thanks |

File->Save As. If you save to an uncompressed (.aif, .wav, .w64) or lossless (.pca) format, the default template will match the current format (24/88.2). Pretty sure PT will accept .aif if not .wav. For other formats, you may have to choose a matching template or generate a custom template, but those formats are inherently lossy. J. |

Ok, so just to clarify & restate: The .AIFF format supports resolutions higher than just 16/44.1? Therefor, I can record @ 24/88.2 into Soundforge, Save As .Aiff, and then open the 24/88.2 .AIFF file in Pro Tools? (i've saved 16/44.1 to AIFF and then opened in ProTools, I know that works, I just want to confirm it will work at 24/88.2) |

What you're asking is if Protools supports 24/88.2 format? We know it supports .AIF files, so you need to find out if Protools supports 24/88.2, which will be a combination of Protools supporting it, and the sound card device used on the system also playsback of 24/88.2 files. It would be best to ask on the digidesign website. I know Protools HD will support, 24/88.2 files, not sure about Protools LE, and you haven't said which protools the other system has. |

Skechmaster, PT LE supports up to 24/96 with Digi002 and Digi002 rack. Digi001, Mbox, and Audiomedia only support up to 24/48. So PTLE with any Digi002 or above system will support your 24/88.2 files. It's an AD/DA issue with the lower end Digi products. Greg |
