I'm a new user and I'm ready to take the plunge and buy some loops. I've looked at some past threads on this topic for advice and also looked at sony's offerings. Here's my question/concern: Organization. I can't really tell from the descriptions or limited samples if the loops are well organized. Is it standard for drum loops to be organized around a main beat with several choices for intros/fills/bridges based on that main theme? Also, do they typically have single hits of the main drums so that could build your own or do slight mods? I'm mostly looking for hip/hop, electronic stuff with a heavy emphasis on drums/bass. The samples that came with screenblast seem to lack this. The only organization was musical genre. |

Answers to your questions, in order: -For the most part, yes. -A lot of percussion libraries have One-shots (an instance of audio designed to play only once in any given event) but note that not all have them. If you don't know, ask around. If you have Sound Forge, you could extract what you need for a rhythm from a Loop and make that into a One-shot. You could also use ACID Pro's Chopper tool for the same purpose. Believe the loops that came with Screenblast are mainly a sampling of what's available just to give you an idea. If you noticed under the Loops for ACID page, you can organize loops according to genre so you can more easily find what you need.
