Subject:Can't build tracks?

I've been considering Sound Forge for doing some live drum recording, but after looking at posts tonight I am reconsidering.

I want to import tracks from my friend (vox, guitar, bass), play it back and record live drums on adjoining tracks. I also want to build songs of my own with drum set, hand drums, tabla, shakers, loops, etc. I want to record one track, and listen to it while recording a new track.

Can Sound Forge do this?

No, Sound Forge is a Stereo editor program. You are looking for a program with "multi-track" functionality. Vegas will do what you're looking for.
