I'm working in Sound Forge 5.0 on a Dell Precision 420 computer, with an RME Digi 96/8 PAD soundcard. Recording goes well in mono or stereo at 44.1/16, and is fine in mono at the higher bit rates, but when I try to record 96/24 in stereo, the playmeters show wild clipping before I even start recording! When I record, the clipping goes away, but when I audition the sound file, there some low digital thumping throughout the whole file. I have made all of the suggested adjustments to video, screensaver, color depth and resolution. What have I missed? |

Some questions. Do you have the latest version of Sound Forge 5.0 installed? If not go to the updates page to download and install. For your soundcard. Again, goto the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers for that sound card. Which Video card are you using? Once again, goto that manufacturers website and download/install the latest driver. Many people have had problems similar to this, especially with the m-audio cards. Most of them can be contributed to the sound card and/or the video card. Doing a search in this forum will give you many ideas of where to look. |

Yes indeedy, do a search on this forum. Additionally, as I've stated before, always try exiting all non-essential applications. Try turning off video acceleration., Check your device IRQ locations, |

In Options > Preferences, use your soundcard's drivers, not Microsoft Mapper. MJ |
