General thumbs up for industrial-quality straight-forwardness, but pointing outlack of CD features, in latest (April) EQ mag.

Yep, I read that one too, the article was pretty straight forward and too the point also. I think they emphazied some of the new features in SF7 a little too much, while others didn't get hardly a wink, like the VU meter, I think they mentioned this as "additional metering options", while it seemed like they went on forever on the Spectral Analysis tools, which has been in other versions and just got some enhancements in 7.0.

They also picked up on the lack of integrates DAO burning (mentioning CDA50 as an external app) and the seeming lack of interest in Batch Processing.

"They also picked up on the lack of integrates DAO burning"

Oh Yeah, I pointed that out to Sony, when I first opened the first SF7.0 beta. I pretty much said, "no DAO recording options?" "This will be the biggest disappointment of this release." Obviously others see that too.

Hey Red,

Not only do others see it. Most of us think it's way, way overdue. Keep speaking up for us.

I thought that review was lacking, it really did not highlight some of the intuitive work flow fesatures of SF7,

(01) such as the included restoration features
(02) the VU meter
(03) the multiple recording setup feature and how useful it can be
(04) the DX pluggin preset manager and migration tools
(05) the efficient drag and drop into -- and also the user definable fade feature

I mean very few people that I know, even think of SF7

usual it is Adobe Audtion / WaveLab or Bias. The press release did not even explain the usage of multiple overlays for the Spectral analysis in a decent manner.

I wrote a letter to them, complaining about the faintness of the report.

Sony / Sonic Foudry reminds of the old Hewlette Packard.
They have a great product line they just dont know how to market and influence more users.
Hopefully that will change.
