Independent control of left and right audio

In Vegas 5 can you control the volume and pan of either the left or right channels of audio independantly of each other. In other words can you pan both center and make the left louder than the right?

Right-click on the audio track's header > Duplicate track.

Right-click on the event in the original track (Select events to end if there is more than one event) > Channels > Left only.

Do the same in the duplicate track except Right only.

In the original track right-click the pan fader and choose -6 dB and the same in the duplicate.

Pan as desired.
