i hope some of you Sound Forge 7 wizards here can lend me a hand. Im having trouble with the audio capture portion of video files into vegas.

Long story short is there any way i can make sound forge 7 sync with Vegas 5 so that when i record (capture video) in vegas i will stay in sync in sound forge 7?

i know if i had a visual que and a sync pop i could do it (like those clapper boards) lol i know but im desperate.

Again i need to sync sound forge 7 to vegas 5 during record OR even just playback i could start sound forge before the capture then sync it up later but ..um how do i do this?

go easy please im a newbie here and it's late ok? :)

thanks for the help

I think you can use the Vegas Video Capture utility to do what you are trying without having to jump through all the hoops. I think you can capture the audio and video with the Video Capture utility, but it depends on the output format you're sending to your PC. Seeing that you can't capture video directly in Vegas, maybe this is what you're using. There's really no need to sync Sound Forge up with Vegas, although it is possible to do but, for this purpose you would be jumping through a lot of unnecessary hoops. I would post your question in the Vegas Video forum and inform them of the format you are trying to capture from. They should be able to guide you through a much simpler process. Once you have the video and audio captured into Vegas, the audio and video streams can be seperated and you can directly open the audio into sound forge and edit, and changes you make will get updated in Vegas and remain in sync.

What happens when you arm an audio track in Vegas > Select the inputs in the track and click record?
