Subject:Need Help!

I recorded audio with a Sony MZ-N707 minidisc and I didn't adjust the volume, so my audio doesn't sound too good. Unfortunately, this is a high profile project and I'm desperate for help. Can someone please suggest a fix. The audio link is here:

You've got some severe problems. The audio wasn't recorded too loud, but somewhere along the way the chain was too hot and introduced distortion. Sometimes you can use the Noise Reduction plugin's Restore Clipped Peaks to reduce distortion caused by recording too hot. But it didn't work in this case because the distortion occurred elsewhere in the chain.

I'm afraid there's probably not much that can be done.
