Photoshop layer support?

I looked and looked in the manual for DVD 2.0 and could NOT see any other support for PShop files other than flattened - in othe rwords NO support for layers. Is this correct? is it even possible in this day and age??
I mean, if I create all my menus and buttons and highlights and stuff in Photoshop the way I always do for use in other areas and in other apps do I have to make an alpha png of every single separate graphics element and then put it all back together again in DVD?
Please guys, tell me this is NOT so....

I was just thinking about this topic recently. It doesn't appear to allow for import of layers. bummer. (although I'm only usuing Architect1) Vegas' background comes from music editing. There's never been a relationship with any of the Adobe products. I guess enough of us didn't complain loud enough to the makers of ARCH 2.

Well if that is the case - I suspect it is - I'll have to skip DVD-Arch and use some other product. Like DVD-Lab or some such.
It would cost me a huge amount of time and effort to completely rethink the way I work with graphics just because one app has poor import support.
What a great pity..... since I use Vegas.

You can still use it to generate the background and highlight mask
but it sure would be better if you just labled the layer "mask"
and it was read automatically.
