Subject:Extracting Regions to .wav (SF6.0)

I have been recording 24-88 fomat, and I run into the 2GB limitation of wav files at about 1 hr+50 min, so I save directly to .w64 files which does not have this limitation. I mark the beginning of each song, convert markers to regions, and then extract the regions to separate .wav files. The problem is when I extract regions from a .w64 file, the resultant .wav files are unreadable in anything other than Sound Forge. If I read them back in to SF6.0 and resave them, they are readable by other .wav applications. It doesn't seem to matter how long the .w64 file is. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix? Does SF7.0 fix this?
Thanks, Chris
