Double-click the little speaker volume control icon to bring up the mixer control panel. Click Options / Properties / Recording. Look for an input named "PC Speaker", "Mixed Output", "What you hear", etc. With this selected Sound Forge will record whatever you hear through the computer speakers. |

Someone told me that on computers with one sound card the "audio engine" is used during the streaming and playback process and is not available as a record source, therefore, Sound Forge cannot see (or in this case, hear) it. I solved this problem by having two sound cards - the default soundcard for the computer is a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Its output goes to inputs 3 and 4 of an M-Audio Omni Studio. This way, one is used as the streaming engine and one is used as the record engine. Probably not the answer you were looking for . . . works for me. |
