Does anyone know how to use Sound Forge to slow down a digital voice recording to assist typists when listening to an MP3 voice recording?

There are several methods. The fastest is to change the playback sample rate. Near the lower right corner of the screen is a small text box that will probably say something like 44,100 Hz or 22,050 Hz (numbers may vary depending on how the file was created). Double-click this box and enter a lower number. If the original was 44,100 Hz and you enter 33,000 then the voice will play back approximately 3/4 the original speed. The pitch will also drop like a tape recorder playing slow.

If you want to keep the pitch the same while the voice is slower then use Process / Time Stretch. You can enter a new time or move the slider. In this case, a larger percentage means slower playback.
